Send photos from your Mac or PC to a phone

Photo Transfer works in both directions. The desktop app doesn't have a Send button — you push files to your phone by connecting the two devices and then using Add Files inside one of your phone's albums.

Step-by-step

  1. On your phone, tap SendComputerPick on Computer. This is the same way you'd start a phone-to-computer transfer — it makes your phone discoverable from the desktop app.
  2. On your Mac or PC, open Photo Transfer App. Your phone appears in the device list — click it to connect.
  3. Browse your phone in the desktop app. Navigate to the album or folder where you want the new files to land.
  4. Click Add Files. A standard file picker opens — choose photos and videos from your computer.
  5. The files transfer over WiFi and appear in the selected album on your phone.

Where the photos land on your phone

  • iPhone or iPad: photos go into the Photos app, in the album you targeted from the desktop app.
  • Android: photos appear in the corresponding album in your gallery (Google Photos, Samsung Gallery, etc.).

Supported file types

JPEG, PNG, HEIC, HEIF, GIF, WebP, TIFF, RAW formats, plus video formats MP4, MOV, MKV, M4V, and more. If the file isn't a recognized media format, your phone's gallery app may not show it — but Photo Transfer still delivers it to your phone's storage.
