Transfer photos between two iPhones or iPads

Transfer photos and videos directly between two iPhones, two iPads, or one of each. Useful when you're sharing a batch of photos with someone in the same room.

Before you begin

  • Photo Transfer App installed on both devices.
  • Both devices on the same WiFi network.
  • Photo Library permission granted on each.

Step-by-step

  1. Open Photo Transfer App on both devices.
  2. On the receiver, tap Receive. The list of nearby senders appears here.
  3. On the sender, tap Send → Another device.
  4. Select photos and videos to send.
  5. On the receiver, pick the sender from the discovered list to accept the transfer.

What's preserved

  • Live Photos transfer as Live Photos.
  • HEIC, ProRAW, and DNG all arrive in their original format with full quality.
  • EXIF metadata, GPS, capture date are intact.
