Photo Library permission was denied

If Photo Transfer App opens with an empty photo grid or a "no access" warning, the app doesn't have permission to read your photo library. You can re-grant it in your device's system settings.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Scroll down and tap Photo Transfer App.
  3. Tap Photos.
  4. Choose Full Access (recommended — lets the app see your whole library) or Limited Access (you pick a specific subset of photos).

Alternatively: Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Photo Transfer App.

Android

  1. Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Tap AppsPhoto Transfer App.
  3. Tap Permissions.
  4. Tap Photos and videos (or "Files and media", depending on Android version).
  5. Choose Allow access to all photos and videos.

On newer Android versions (13+), you can grant access to Selected photos and videos only — same idea as iOS Limited Access. Photo Transfer App works fine with selected access; it just sees a smaller library.

About Limited / Selected Access

If you choose limited access on either OS, Photo Transfer App only sees the photos you specifically picked. You can change which photos at any time:

  • iOS: Settings → Photo Transfer App → Photos → Edit Selected Photos.
  • Android: re-open the photo picker the next time the app prompts.
